Enhancing Broadband

The first part of installing the Speedtouch 580 is to correctly connect all required on site wiring. Once the router the been physically installed the router can then be configured with the appropriate profile for your connection.

Remove the contents of the Speedtouch 580 package. This should contain the Speedtouch 580 router, a power supply, an Ethernet cable, a USB cable, a DSL line cable, a mounting bracket, and an installation CD.

On Site Wiring:

2. Plug in the power adaptor into an available power point and the connector into the back of the router. Press the power button on the back on the router.

3. Plug in the Ethernet cable from any one of the four Ethernet ports on the back of the router into the network card on your computer, or enable the wireless connection on your PC and set with no encryption.

4. Plug in the DSL line cable into the back of the router and the other end either directly into a wall socket or into the modem side of a double filter. All other telephony devices including phones, faxes, Sky digital, monitored alarm systems etc, must also be filtered.

5. Once this is complete the Power, DSL and Ethernet/WLAN lights should be on.
