Speedtouch Router Installation Once the on-site wiring has been completed and the 3 lights on the router are on and steady the router must be configured with the correct connection type, VPI/VCI settings and the account username and password. This can be achieved in a few different way, firstly with the setup wizard on the CD, secondly using the easy setup wizard built into the router, and lastly by manually uploading a configuration file into the router via the web interface. If you are setting up the router using the XTRA Jetstream CD click here for instructions. Setup instructions for the Speedtouch CD are below. Instructions: Setup Wizard on CD-ROM: 1. Insert the CD-ROM into the PC 2. The CD will auto-start and prompt for the setup language.
3. Once the language has been selected the wizard will appear as below.
4. Select 'Initial Setup' 5. The Initial setup menu will then appear. Select 'Setup my Speedtouch'
6. Click 'Next' on the Setup Wizard
7. Click 'Yes' to the Software Licence Agreement.
8. Once the device has detected it will list the router version, serial number etc. Click 'Next'.
9. Click on 'Have Disk...'
10. Click on 'Browse...'
11. Find the downloaded file, select it and click on 'Open'
12. The file path should now be in the 'Copy provider's files from:' box. Click on 'OK'
13. There should now only be one Provider and Service selectable. Click on 'Next'.
14. Select the VPI/VCI value on 0.100 and click 'Next'
15. Enter your username and password as given to you by your ISP and click 'Next'
16. Enter a security username and password for the router. This is optional and the username and password entered here is completely user defined. Click 'Next'
17. The wizard should then list all the setup details you have entered. Click 'Next' to start Configuring the router.
18. Once the wizard has completed the setup you will be able to click on 'Finish'.
The Setup should now be complete, you should have 3 green lights on the router and be able to surf the internet. |
