Enhancing Broadband

The first step when installing the Speedtouch 330 modem is to install the software and drivers off the CD-ROM. To start the installation just insert the CD into the PC and the Installation process should start automatically.

Instructions:

1. Insert the SpeedTouch/Jetstream CD

2. Double click on the CD to view it contents

3. Double click on the appropriate Mac OS folder (e.g. Mac OSX)

4. Double click on the Setup Folder

5. Double click on the Speedtouch.pkg. This will open the Speedtouch installation package as seen below

6. Click on 'Continue' to start the installation

7. The installation package will now be open and will list all the support Speedtouch products. Click on 'Continue'

8. Please read the software licence agreement and click continue once you have completed

9. Click on 'Agree' to accept the licence agreement and continue with the installation

10. Select the Destination for the SpeedTouch software and then click 'Continue'

11. Click on 'Install' to start installing the Speedtouch software on the selected drive.

12. If you have a Administration password you will be prompted to enter it at this stage.

13. You will be required to restart the Mac once the installation is complete, so if you have any other applications open, please save and close them and click on 'Continue Installation'

14. A message will pop up informing that you have to connect the modem after the installation is complete. Click 'OK'

15. The modem software will now be installed. This process can take a few minutes. Once the process is completed you will be prompted to restart the Mac

16. Once the computer is restarted, plug in the modem into any available USB port, then plug one end of the the DSL/Phone line cable into the modem and the other either into a jack-point or into the modem side of a micro-filter. Ensure all other telephony devices on the same telephone number are also filtered.

17. Once you have two green lights on the modem click on the Apple menu and 'System Preferences'

18. Click on 'Network'

19. Set the Location to 'Automatic' and Show to 'Speedtouch USB'

20. Select the PPP tab and enter the account name and password as supplied by your ISP and then enter a phone number of 0 (zero).

21. Select the TCP/IP tab and ensure Configure IPv4 is set to 'Using PPP'

22. Select the modem tab and set the modem to 'Speedtouch USB modem' as below.

23. Once these settings have been entered click on the 'Apply Now' button.

24. Open the 'Internet Connect' dockling and ensure that Speedtouch USB is selected and the Account name and password are entered correctly. Click on 'Connect'.

You should now have a Internet connection and be able to surf.
